WHERE LEGENDS LEFT THEIR MARK
Journey from the fabled island of Buyan to the heavenly realm of Iriy, exploring lands forever scarred by a long-forgotten cataclysm. Encounter creatures, gods, and forgotten powers drawn from Slavic folklore as you uncover the stories that shaped the kingdom's fate.
Beneath the earth lies a different life. The sun gives no warmth, the air smells of decay, and time itself seems to have stopped. Only eternal twilight, cold stone, and the ceaseless rustling in the shadows.
The walls remember the groans of thousands of earthly souls who descended here for eternal imprisonment. Those who managed to break free can no longer be called human — or even living.
The Underground Tsardom does not drive the living away — it waits for them, to ensnare, to digest, and to lock them in its cold depths.
The Caves of the Dead are the gateway to the Underground Tsardom. They greet visitors with distant hissing, rumbling, and the hollow drip from above. The walls are covered with glowing moss and ichor that juts from the cracks like broken ribs from a wound. From every crevice call the voices of those no longer alive — their whispers, their pleas, their dying breaths...
But the worst lurks in the depths — where something cold and ancient lazily scrapes against the stone.
Amidst the boundless sea, where the waves roar to the very horizon, lies Buyan — an island that lives in the heart of everyone who has ever set foot on its soil. Every sailor, as he rounds into the bay, halts at the sight of the white-stone palaces that creep up the slope toward the clouds; he smiles at the slender towers and gilded domes.
Buyan is not merely an island or a capital. It is a native land, where at any hour — be it storm, war, or plague — you will find a hearth and a crust of warm bread. As long as even one person lives on Buyan — Buyan itself lives.
At the very heart of the Underground Tsardom stands the Stronghold — the lair of Koshchei the Deathless. Its pale, shroud-like walls rise atop blocks of black basalt, and the wind howls through its arches. Inside — empty halls where even the unclean fear to tread. Labyrinths of corridors converge in one place — the sanctuary of the Heir to Death, who proclaimed himself a new god.
Higher than the mountains, higher than the clouds, where the eternal blue of the sky spills wide, lies Iriy — the realm where the heavenly souls of the departed go. Here there is no cold, no hunger, no fear — only eternal light and peace, in which the laughter of the departed once could be heard.
But Iriy is empty. The gods have vanished, leaving their halls behind, and now beneath the thousand-year-old vaults, only dust rules. Of the palaces with evergreen gardens, only memory remains.
